As expected, this year’s Summer’s sensation ‘Bichagadu‘ is earning rich dividends for the makers of its sequel ‘Bethaludu’. The film is produced by hero and music director Vijay Antony’s wife Fathima in Malayalam.
We know that ‘Bichagadu’ was bought for mere Rs. 45 lakhs and went on collecting more than Rs. 20 crores. So, one can guess that ‘Bethaludu’ Telugu rights might have fetched more for the makers of the original. True. The Telugu version was sold out for a whopping Rs. 3 crores, which is big for a dubbing movie with a small hero.
The Telugu producers must be one happy people because they could make table profits with related to pre-release business on the sequel. This terrific business is a testimony to the kind of craze Vijay Antony earned with ‘Bichagadu’. It’s not just the prequel, even the trailer of the sequel was intriguing and promising.
