All the Sankranthi releases are making the most of the festival season as they are putting up a good show at the box office. With today being Bhogi, all films had a good day at the ticket counters.
Waltair Veerayya has started off on a bright note in the domestic market and also the USA. It has crossed the $1 million mark in the USA with Saturday advances. But with the break-even target at valued $2 million, the film faces an uphill task.
The Chiranjeevi starrer has started well in the domestic market as well and it is maintaining a very good hold on the second day.
Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy had a sensationally good opening everywhere. In the USA, the film reported drops on second day. In the domestic market, it is maintaining a decent hold in the domestic market.
Varasudu had a delayed release in Telugu, but it did manage to post decent opening in the Telugu states. At the USA box office, the Telugu version is a non-starter though. But the domestic revenues are encouraging.
The Bhogi advantage has clearly helped all the films in the domestic market. Monday marks Martin Luther King day in the USA and this holiday could help the Sankranthi releases to an extent.
