Better Package on the way for reluctant farmers?Andhra Pradesh government is planning to better the Land Pooling package offered to the reluctant farmers in Undavalli and Penumaka villages. These villages are not happy with the package they offered as they complain that their lands which are costly, are also being offered same package to lands in rest of the villages.

Currently the government is offering 1600 square yards of developed lands for every one acre given in land pooling. The government is thinking on the lines of increasing it to 1800 square yards to please the reluctant farmers. The government may go for land acquisition if the farmers are not happy with the increased package.

Land pooling is considered as one of the biggest achievements in modern democracy as more than 30000 acres are collected with out much resistance. Now the remaining 1500-2000 odd acres have become problematic. The state government wants to avoid the controversial land acquisition as much as possible.
