There will be two big ticket outings at Telugu box office next week, but neither of them are straight Telugu films. The two new releases will be Beast and KGF 2.
As for Vijay‘s Beast, the Tamil superstar hadn’t attended many promotional events for any of his previous Telugu-dubbed films till now. We don’t know if Vijay will attend one of Beast’s Telugu events. Even if he holds a Telugu promotional event for Beast, will one solitary event be enough to pull the native audience to theatres?
Coming to KGF 2, the film mostly banks on the solid platform laid by the first part, KGF. The film’s cast doesn’t have many noted faces for the Telugu audience. One of the core strengths of the film will be the momentum built by the first part.
KGF 2 unit has been holding an event or two in major cities across the country. They might hold an event in the Telugu states. But the film was sold for particularly high prices in the Telugu states. Will the KGF 1 success alone be enough to pull audience in big numbers for KGF 2?
The thing with KGF 2 is that the Telugu market will be one of the major box office contributors for the film. A lot will depend on the pre-release buzz if the film is to register excellent openings. Will a single event promotional event be enough for that to happen? We will know soon.
