Nagarjuna‘s Bangarraju got off to an impressive start at the box office. The film’s negative rights were acquired by ZEE and the media giant is now said to be contemplating the OTT release plan for the family entertainer.
Usually, ZEE5 premieres Telugu films several weeks post theatrical release. But that might not be the case with Bangarraju.
We are hearing that ZEE5 plans to make Bangarraju available for streaming any time after the Republic Day – 26 Jan. With theatres running with 50% occupancy and the footfalls at cinema halls likely to go down in view of Covid, an early OTT release is very much on cards.
If things fall into place, Bangarraju might be made available for streaming on ZEE5 from the 4th of February. Bangarraju could well be ZEE5’s first early OTT release in Telugu cinema.
