Flash Back Story:
The success of Senior NTR’s blockbuster movie YamaGola is legendary. Featuring actor NTR as the lead star, Kaikala Satyanarayana as lord Yama, Allu Ramalingaiah as Chitra Gupta and Rao Gopal Rao as the main villain, the film turned out to be a trendsetter both as a comedic genius as well as a musical hit, such that various other films like Yamudiki Mogudu, Yamaleela, Yama Donga and others followed its comedic path.
An interesting tid-bit that happened during the pre – production of Yamagola has not been revealed. As it occurs, the filmmakers were originally set on casting Nandamuri Bala Krishna as the hero and cast NTR as lord Yama. But since NTR was against disturbing Balayya’s education and wanted to confine him only to their home banner, the film was made with NTR as the lead actor and Bala Krishna missed a unique opportunity to be a part of this impressive film.
