Vijay Master Theaters collectionsWell, all is not well for Master on its theatrical release front. As informed previously, the 100% occupancy has met with severe criticism. Now, the Ministry of Home Affairs has involved in the issue.

The Ministry of Home Affairs says that the Tamilnadu governments order of 100% occupancy is in direct contradiction with the government directives. It has asked the TN government to revoke it’s GO permitting 100% occupancy.

It is a setback but is an expected one. Many thought this could be on cards looking at the growing dissent about different professional communities.

However, it is not the only setback for Master. The Kerala film federation too has decided to not open theatres unless their demands are met by the Kerala government. Also, the distributors want their dues to be cleared. Until they are accepted, the theatres would remain shut.

The Kerala state is a major territory for Vijay commercially. If the theatres don’t open, it would affect the collections. The reverting to 50% occupancy is also going to limit its prospects.

These are two unexpected setbacks in the last moment. We have to wait and see if there is any change in the coming days. Master is set to hit the screens worldwide from January 13th.
