Let’s rewind the clock back to second half of last year. Back during that time teaser of a certain highly anticipated film ‘I’ released. This Shankar directed film had massive anticipation on it ever since it was announced. Naturally then when the trailer arrived and with the hype it arrived, all hell broke loose on the internet.
There are two massive star fans bases in Tamil cinema inherited by stars Vijay and Ajith. It is literally a war among fans whenever a film to these stars used to arrive right from the day first look was released to the day the film hit the screen. The best of these fights were of course reserved for trailer views as the numbers were clearly visible to all unlike the collections. Post the release of Shakar’s “I” trailer everyone has gone silent with the kind of massive record itself. The myth of the views vis a vis stardom was broken.
In Telugu we see similar fights happen between the fan groups of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan and Superstar Mahesh Babu. Whenever a new teaser of theirs releases, the usual record views count is started.
Will Baahubali therefore do an “I” in Telugu and put an end to their fan war. Already the trailer has broken the record of highest views in single day and is now going to comfortably cross the total views record too. And while doing so can it also challenge I and become the most viewed South Indian film teaser? Let’s see how things stand at the end of the first week.
