Ayyappanum-Koshiyum-in-Telugu---Will-it-WorkA lot has been talked about and written about the Telugu Remake of Malayalam Superhit, Ayyappanum Koshiyum in recent times. There are reports that Balayya will reprise the role of Biju Menon and the names like Manchu Vishnu, Manchu Manoj, and Rana are being heard for the role of Prithviraj.

Balayya and Rana seem to be decent choices for the role but the question is if they will fit into the story and if the story will fit into Telugu sensibilities. The story has Malayalam flavor all over it and as it is, may not cater to the stardom of Balayya. The first half will have nothing for the actor and the fans would find it really tough to sit through.

The second half has a couple of scenes highlighting Balayya but that would still leave a void. Comparatively, the role of Prithviraj is well-written. The basic premise of the story in Kerala may be tough to recreate. Usually, our filmmakers have mediocre directors for remakes as the story already exists. But Ayyappanum Koshiyum script needs a complete overhaul.

So, it needs an able director. As a whole, the conflict point seems to be not so serious and also, there is scope to improve the characterizations of both the actors. Even then, it may be tough to adapt the script to our nativity. So, a lot will depend on who will handle the script. If not, the script will definitely fall flat in Telugu.
