The twin Telugu states – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana reported record-breaking revenues for Hollywood biggie, Avatar 2. The film has set an all-time record in the Telugu states.
Avatar 2 has collected a whopping Rs 13.5 crores in the Telugu states on its opening day, which is the highest ever tally for any English language film in AP and Telangana till now.
The Nizam collections are at Rs 7.5 crore while Andhra Pradesh contributed another Rs 6 crore. Avatar 2 is now one of the biggest non-Telugu openers in Telugu states, and the all-time biggest English opener here.
The previous record is held by Spider-Man: No Way Home which collected Rs 5.5 crore here. Avatar 2 shattered this record by over 2.5 times the margin. It is safe to say that the Telugu audience have lapped up the James Cameron directorial big time.
Avatar 2 even beat the opening day tallies of a few recent mainstream Telugu biggies in key segments like RTC X Roads, Khammam, and Tirupati. This is an astonishing feat to say the least.
The all-India nett collections are said to be around Rs 35 crores. The advances for the second day are said to be on a promising note as well.
