The film Autonagar Surya starring Naga Chaitanya has been postponed once again. This Deva Katta directed film has been in cans for almost two years and was back on track only recently. Even the pending small portion of shoot involving heroine Samantha has been completed, however there is still going to be a delay in release despite the director’s efforts to complete the film.
The reason of course is purely a commercial one which makes sense and even the fans seem to be in agreement with it. Autonagar Surya was slated to have a December 20 or 25, release up until now, the problem with the date is that the film might find it hard to stay in theaters for more than two weeks as Sankranthi releases would take over the precedence over the old films. This is, if the film has a favorable word of mouth and is doing well commercially, imagine if things aren’t as good as expected, one could expect a repeat of Bezawada again. Keeping this in mind the makers have decided to postpone the film to January end when the Sankranthi releases impact will be faded. Even fans seem to be happy with this as they don’t want to see Bezawada’s fate repeated ever again.
