Natural Star Nani is occupied with Rahul Sankrityan’s Shyam Singha Roy. The film has Sai Pallavi and Uppena fame Krithi Shetty as the female lead. Since it is a period drama, the makers are not missing out any details and intricacies to bring in.
For his upcoming film, Shyam Singha Roy which has Bengali background, makers canned a few scenes in Kolkata. However with the rise on Covid cases and restriction in movement, Kolkata was moved to Hyderabad. Well, art director Avinash Kolla has erected a massive set resembling Kolkata in 10-acres in the outskirts of the City, which has become the talk of the town in tinsel town.
In order to get the architectural style of Kolkata City of the 1960s, the team had camped in for four months. To get the authenticity, Bengali workers were brought in to construct a massive set for a whopping Rs 6.5 crore were spent. The 100-year old famous Kali set was also built by 12000 workers in a period of two months. The makers roped in workers from Kolkata rather than local workers because they are well equipped with use of bricks and clay that goes into Kolkata art making.
Meanwhile, Nani’s Tuck Jagadish in Shiva Nirvana’s directorial was supposed to hit screens on April 23, but due to covid cases the film has been postponed indefinitely.
