A few days back reports emerged in Kollywood circles that the big stars, Rajinikanth, Vijay, Ajith and Suriya etc. are going to give 2020, a miss. It means, neither they would shoot nor have any release. Everyone will resume work in 2021.
Are the Telugu stars taking a leaf out their Tamil counterparts? It is heard in the industry that many of the TFI stars are not going to join the shoot any time soon. A few weeks ago, industry biggies met the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana respectively for permissions related to the shooting. They reciprocated it with many regulations.
However, with the increasing cases of COVID-19 cases and the many hassles involved with the shooting, the stars are directors have taken a backseat. They have decided that only when a downward curve is seen concerning the coronavirus that they would resume shooting.
Already SS Rajamouli has cancelled the test shoot of RRR. Similarly, Venkatesh won’t be joining Narappa shooting in the near future. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya is also halted with no sign of resumption.
While these are some of the films on the sets already, one hears the same with many biggies expected to commence the shoot. Superstar Mahesh Babu is willing to wait out until things get clear for Sarkaru Vaari Paata.
If there is no shooting in the next few months, we could be looking at another summer left free. Mostly the half-completed flicks will take the slots depending on the situation.
