murugadoss

Late last year we had said in a special item how the year 2014 could be the year of AR Murugadoss. The director was attached to not one but four major films across Hindi and Tamil film industries. With two of those films out of the way he is showing exactly what we meant back then.

AR Murugadoss’s second directorial venture in Hindi, the recently released film Holiday, starring Akshay Kumar in the lead has now become the highest grossing Hindi movie of the year. It has achieved this feat by crossing Jai Ho which incidentally is a remake of the director’s only direct Telugu film Stalin starring Chiranjeevi. What this means is that Murugadoss is attached to the top two grossing films of the year in Bollywood as of today.

With Kaththi too slated to release later in the year the director could repeat the feat in Tamil film industry as well by giving a highest grosser there. Apart from these films he also has few productions lined up too which are already carrying great buzz. All in all the director is clearly going through a dream phase in his career currently. Can he totally own the year 2014? Tell us below.
