Andhra-pradesh-seed-capitalThe Energy department of Andhra Pradesh had estimated that the seed capital of the state alone will require 1500 MW of power and a detailed plan is being chalked out to meet this requirement. Most of the power sub-stations will be indoor and will have underground cabling.

The government is planning to give permissions only for green buildings compliant with the Energy Conservation Building Code and the norms laid down by the National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency to minimize the carbon print in the upcoming capital.

Already the government had sanctioned 100 Crore for for laying underground power cables to electrify all the major Krishna river ghats in Vijayawada for the Krishna Pushkarams next year. The department is also gearing up to call tenders for underground cabling in Visakhapatnam by this year-end and this project is expected to cost 700 Crore.
