KGF: Chapter 2 and RRR are the biggest event movies of 2021 (if they make it). Naturally, they are pitted against each other even though they are as far away from each other as possible concerning the content. The latest in the list of the competition is the ‘interests’ on booking site, Book My Show.
KGF: Chapter 2 has already crossed a sensational 300K likes on the Book My Show site. It indicates the number of people interested in watching the movie. RRR, in comparison, has only 65.6K likes.
The gap between the two showcases the disparity in terms of the hype related to the movies. However, it is purely based on content that is out and will never be a final reflection of the craze. It is one of the many parameters now, and on that count, RRR has failed to score.
The wide gap could be felt even more when we understand that only a first look poster and a teaser are out for KGF: Chapter 2. On the other hand, RRR has had many posters and a couple of introduction teasers.
In the Telugu states, there is no denying the hype on RRR. The character intro teaser of Bheem crossing 50 million views is proof of that. It is also further strengthened by the fact that both the teaser videos have over 40 million views.
But, it can’t be denied that despite the best possible combination and setting, RRR is failing to get the ‘insane’ buzz anticipated with event movies. Its reception will be a big test for Rajamouli’s Pan-India appeal. Jr NTR and Ram Charan play the lead roles in the film.
