Andhra Pradesh High Court Orders Status-Quo on Capital ShiftAndhra Pradesh Government’s plan for the early shift of the administration to Vishakapatnam has met with a Road Block. Andhra Pradesh High Court today issued a Stay on Administration Decentralization and CRDA abolishment until August 14th.

The court has given time for the Government till August 14th to file counter on the petition seeking suspension of the three Capitals Gazette. The next hearing of the case is posted to August 14th. The court will then decide to extend the stay or otherwise in subsequent hearings.

Until the issue is decided by the court, the Government needs to maintain status-quo. 29,481 farmers have given 34,322 acres of land in the Land Pooling Policy of Chandrababu Naidu for the construction of Amaravati. Among these farmers, 5,227 farmers have given One to Two acres of land while another 3,337 farmers have given Two to Five acres of land.

So, it will be the small and medium scale farmers that will be the most affected due to the Government’s decision. The farmers have rested all their hopes on the Courts to save their interests.
