The Telugu Remake of Successful Malayalam film, Ayyappanum Koshiyum was announced recently with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan playing the role of Biju Menon. The makers did not announce the second lead. Names like Rana and Ravi Teja were in the rumor mills.
Now, all of sudden, there are reports that Pawan Kalyan asked the makers to see if the second lead role can be avoided totally by presenting the lead antagonist as the other one. That means there would be no second lead and also the climax needs to be changed.
But such a change, if made will kill the actual idea of Ayyappanum Koshiyum and its USP. Ayyappanum Koshiyum is the story of two equals high on Ego. If the lead role in replaced by the lead villain, it is like any other story of good vs bad. The climax will be changed to Hero bashing the villain.
If that is the case, the makers could have easily called it an original and saved lots of money by not going for the Remake Rights. It has to be seen what the makers do about it. Trivikram is supervising the script work of the film directed by Appatlo Okadundevadu fame Sagar K Chandra.
