Tollywood actress Kajal Agarwal was incredibly honoured to be a part of the festivities during the 43rd International Film Festival (IFFI) in Goa. Being the only female guest of honour at the inaugural ceremony, Kajal felt highly privileged and stated so in her speech.

Sharing the stage with “ministers, foreign delegates and officials, for such a big event,” she said excitedly, was indeed something to write home about but she clarified that despite attending some of these events in the past. “I’m not a festival buff.”

Although the Tollywood contingent were in an uproar when the legends of Telugu cinema were ignored in the ‘100 Years Tribute’ screening, Kajal remained ignorant of the tumult. “I was there for only a few hours and left as soon as Life of Pi ended,” she said.

Returning to her recent pursuits and the success of her latest film Thupakki, Kajal said that, “A commercial success always gives a high, since it’s as though all our efforts have been vindicated.”
