Amazon-Prime-Video-NetflixAn optimal and affordable pricing model is required for OTT platforms to succeed in India. Netflix recently made a move to make use of this economical factor by introducing the Rs 149/month plan.

Netflix’s Rs 149 plan is a mobile-only one and it is the most economical option offered by the OTT giant till date.

Now, Amazon Prime Video has rolled out its own economical plan for the Indian OTT audience. The OTT giant has introduced a new plan for the Indian market and it costs Rs 499/ year.

There’s no surprise that this is also a mobile-only plan. This is a subscription only for Amazon Prime Video and not all of Prime services. Meaning, this plan doesn’t offer Prime shopping and free express shipping services on Amazon’s ecommerce platform.

All the while, the all inclusive plan of Amazon Prime was seen as a reasonable one as it came with Prime Video subscription and also the e-commerce services. The same has been cut down in the Rs 499/month plan now.

The common opinion is that Netflix’s library is much more diverse and captivating. The same was propelled with the introduction of Rs 149 plan. But coming to Amazon Prime, the larger section opine that they have a one-dimensional library.

So, an economical plan just for their Video service might look good on paper, but it might not be a match to Netflix in terms of content quality. Especially with the deduction of Prime shipping services.
