Amaravati fete creates new headache for KCROpposition Congress Party is trying to corner Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao about attending Amaravati Foundation event. Congress alleged that KCR was seen clapping when AP CM Chandrababu Naidu thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for merging seven mandals of Khammam district to AP for facilitating Polavaram Project.

Congress always tried to use the issue to corner KCR alleging that the ruling party did very little to stop the seven mandals going to AP. Going by the videos of the event, KCR did not clap but Naidu made those comments in KCR’s presence which will trouble him politically.

It is known that NDA government had brought an ordinance for merging these mandals to Andhra Pradesh in its first cabinet meeting after coming to power. TRS back then even after being in power called for a one day strike. Now Congress is bringing back the issue to corner TRS in Khammam where the ruling party is relatively weak.
