Gold Malayalam review talkAlphonse Puthren’s Premam shook not only the Malayalam industry but the entire south film industry. Premam followed a man’s journey to find love through various stages of life. Anyone who watched it fell in love with the film because it was so relatable. Now, Puthren is returning with a film titled Gold starring Prithviraj and Nayanthara after seven years of Premam.

The highlight was that no songs were released, no trailer was released, no promos were shown on TV, and no one knew what the genre was. So many were excited to watch what Puthren had come up with this time.

But going by the initial reviews, it seems like Puthren has failed completely this time. Neither the humor works nor the emotions. Many on social media are saying that the story of the film could have been told as a short film of 30 minutes. Some feel that Gold was an exhausting 165-minute-long Instagram reel.

Many are disappointed with the fact that Nayanthara got a raw deal as she has no significant role in the film.

Overall, Gold disappoints. Despite the Premem factor and strong star cast, the film doesn’t work and just goes on to prove, “All That Glitters Is Not Gold.”
