Allu Sirish & Mahesh Babu Did the Same Back-To-BackIn the US, the movies that came this Summer didn’t actually give a reason for the US buyers to celebrate. So far, 2019 has been very unlucky for the overseas trade except for Venkatesh’s ‘F2: Fun & Frustration’. No other movie has brought profits to the buyers in the US.

Even the critically acclaimed ‘Jersey’ that was expected to go great in the US, couldn’t touch the break-even zone. Now, came Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi’ and Allu Sirish’s ‘ABCD American Born Confused Desi’. Of course, there is no comparison between the two films except for the fact that they had disappointed the trade in the US, big time.

In the US market, ‘Maharshi’ can be said to be a flop as the break-even figure was over $2.5 million and was expected to have over $700 K losses. Though there was literally no expectation on ‘ABCD’, joins the list of flop films for the high price paid for the movie among Sirish’s movies.

For Sirish, the break-even figure was $350 K but has collected a meagre $37 K telling us that it is heading towards being a big loss venture for the buyers in the US. Do you know that Sirish’s best movie in the US was ‘Srirastu Subhamastu’ earning $52 K?
