Not so long ago, Allu Arjun was in the firing line for the poorly conceived ad for Rapido. TSRTC even served a notice to Allu Arjun for featuring in this derogatory ad, which belittled TSRTC services. Now, Allu Arjun is facing the heat again on social media for the newly released Zomato ad.
In the Zomato ad, Allu Arjun mouths satirical dialogues on South Indian cinema and its style of filmmaking. He beats a goon and lifts him in the air and by the time the latter lands, he orders a meal on Zomato. This is a supposed satire on South Indian filmmaking style.
This is not sitting well with South Indian cinema followers on social media. They are pointing out that Allu Arjun’s Pushpa became a raging hit in the Hindi market, largely thanks to Hindi audiences’ fascination with South Indian cinema. Now, the same Allu Arjun is seen mocking South Indian cinema in the Zomato ad.
The common opinion on social media is that Allu Arjun should not have featured in such a poorly conceived ad. Interestingly enough, creative filmmaker, Krish is the one who conceived and directed the ad.
