Allu ArjunNot many know that Allu Arjun is a big fan of Tamil director Vetrimaaran. He has been dying to work with him for many years. Around a decade ago, Allu Arjun was floored by Vetrimaaran’s work in Aadukalam.

Allu Arjun was looking to expand his market in Tamil Nadu, and his only choice was Vetrimaaran. He silently flew to Chennai to meet Vetrimaaran and set up a project in their combination.

Vetrimaaran was planning Vada Chennai with Dhanush then. He asked Allu Arjun if he would be interested in playing a powerful character opposite Dhanush in the film. The role was really good, but Allu Arjun declined it.

Allu Arjun has always been clear about the way he wanted to project himself in his films. He never wanted to share the screen as a side hero with any other actor. Despite Vetrimaaran being his favorite director, Allu Arjun declined the offer to be a part of Vada Chennai because he was clear about what he wanted to do and achieve in his career.

That role was eventually done by Ameer, and his role and performance stood out in the entire film. Vada Chennai also became another cult classic from Vetrimaaran.

These interesting facts were revealed by Vetrimaaran while he was interacting with the media while promoting his latest film Vidudhala.
