There has been a lot of confusion of late with the rush of movie release dates of many big-ticket films after the Maharashtra government allowed the functioning of theaters from October 22. This rush also put panic among cinephiles and some of the moviemakers if they would be moving away from their actual release date.
There was a lot of ambiguity surrounding Pushpa release date too. It was rumoured that Mahesh Babu’s SVP may arrive in Christmas and Pushpa may get pushed to Summer, 2022. However, Allu Arjun has cleared the confusion finally. Pushpa makers have announced their arrival in December itself.
The Pushpa team released a poster that says that Pushpa-The Rise will be arriving in theaters from December 17, 2021. This has set a clear message that there is no change of shift in the release month. But the release date has come as a disappointment to the fans as they feel that Pushpa will be facing competition from other markets i.e outside Telugu states.
During the same time, popular Hollywood films – Spider-Man: No Way Home (December 17), then The Matrix 4 (December 22), and then Bollywood film 83 is releasing on December 24. Thus fans are doubtful of Pushpa getting enough screens up North. Secondly, the collections could see a dip than expected. So it is to be seen how the movie holds its foothold in the North market.
