Allu-Aravind-Lost-it-to-NetflixAt last, we have the details of Venkatesh Maha’s next directorial ‘Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya’ (UMUR) and it’s direct release on an OTT platform. It’s learnt that the movie was sold out to the digital platform, Netflix for Rs. 4 crores.

That means that the makers of the movie have bagged profit as the movie was made with a budget of Rs. 2.5 crores. The satellite rights of the movie were also sold out, as per the latest information available.

There was a strong buzz that Allu Aravind tried to bag the digital rights of UMUR for his Telugu OTT platform Aha. It’s strange that he couldn’t bag the digital rights being the regional OTT player and lost it to the international player Netflix.

It’s quite obvious that the price of the rights quoted by Netflix might have played a key role. Though UMUR is a small-budget movie, it’s producers are big namely Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni besides NRI Praveena, the producer of ‘C/o Kancherapalem’.
