Ever since the Telugu cinema market has opened, there have been few questions on trade’s mind. They have been waiting for some ‘big’ movie to provide an answer. The films SR Kalyanamandapam and Seetimaarr gave clarity on the mass audience turnout. Now, all eyes are on Love Story to clear further doubts.
The three main issues that are on the trade’s radar is Hyderabad City, US box office performance and families coming out for the movies. Love Story in the combination of Sekhar Kammula, Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi is the perfect film to answer all these pertinent questions.
The Hyderabad city performance has been poor for all films that have come out post the second wave. And this includes movies that have had a favourable word of mouth as well. It is the same case with the US market, as well. Only two films have collected above $500K, and only one among them touched the million mark.
Sekhar Kammula is a force to reckon with in these markets (Hyderabad city, US). The family audience also turns out in huge numbers for his films. Love Story being the follow up of Fidaa from the director is a reason for the additional craze. It performed sensationally in the US.
Considering all these advantages and a film on familiar turf, there are high expectations on Love Story. Since the Censor formalities are over long ago, there is ample time for a well-planned release without any last-minute issues. There is also a buzz of hundred percent occupancy in AP for Love Story. It increases the box office potential big time.
Keeping all the factors in mind, the box office performance will be under scanner from all quarters and across the country. A favourable response will boost the confidence of all movies slated in front. Love Story will be in cinemas worldwide from September 24.
