Comedian Ali is one one actor in Tollywood who got himself so much rooted in the industry that one can’t imagine T’Town without him. He made a special place in the hearts of Telugu audience and that place is unique. One knows Ali who is so comical and known for his special non-sensical words which seem to be ‘Malayalam’ words like ‘Kaatravelli’ and ‘Enda chaata’ etc.
Making a place in audiences’ hearts as a film actor is different from making place as a good and sensitive human being. Here is one such anecdote of Ali’s life which gives away his humanitarian side. In 1998, Ali bought a house in Srinagar Colony from one couple Sambhashiva Rao and Shakuntala. This couple already took a loan of 90 lakhs from Bank of Baroda.
Shakuntala didn’t reveal about the loan and sold the house to Ali. Ali got to know the fact very late through bank officials and then registered a cheating case on the couple in 2006. The case was in it last stages of hearing. This Saturday, Lok Adalat was held in Nampally Court to clear the long pending cases. Judge Sridevi explained to Ali the pitiable conditions of Shakuntala at present and how she is suffering with poverty in old age.
Immediately Ali chose to take back his case on Shakuntala who is in dire poverty. Ali was cheated for several lakhs of rupees. But his benevolence to pardon the woman who cheated him and even forsake the money is laudable. We never saw this humanitarian side of Ali. The judge too praised Ali for this move and hoped that many would follow him and clear some long pending cases. Hat off to Ali!
