In the scenario when the strategy employed by ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ overseas distributors with regarding the statement, “You will not see this on Netflix and Prime Video’ has backfired on them and turned out to be a promotional gimmick, here came an apology from the overseas distributors.
They tried to explain that they already knew that the movie’s digital rights were sold to SunNXT and hence, they mentioned that it wouldn’t be available on Prime Video and Netflix as SunNXT has a limited reach in the overseas.
The distributors also mentioned they didn’t know that SunNXT was associated with Netflix and hence, the movie is being streamed on Netflix contrary to the above-mentioned statement.
This issue about the streaming of the movie on OTT platforms despite the announcement that it wouldn’t be available has blown out of proportions on social media as Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun fans involved themselves in abusing each other.
