The Akkineni family starrer Manam was received well by the audiences. The public flocked to the theaters to watch the legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao on screen for one last time. Produced by the Akkineni family, it is now believed that the movie will be in the race for the ‘Oscars’.
Industry sources say that Manam has been sent to the Indian Oscar Screening Committee along with Minugurulu as Tollywood’s official entries. If approved by the committee, then Manam will be vying with other films across the globe in the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ category.
If the film does manage to get nominated for Oscars, which is very unlikely but will be a prestigious moment for the Akkineni family and a special gift to the late Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
