Akkineni family’s senior daughter-in-law Amala Akkineni is seldom doing films these days and the last Tamil film she did was in 1991. That was way back 28 years ago. However, she did a couple of Telugu films, but not regularly.
Now, she is making a comeback to the Tamil Film Industry where once she had been a sensation as a heroine of 1980s. She is playing Sharwanand’s mother in his upcoming bilingual being helmed by newbie Shree Karthick.
The director says that he wrote the character keeping Amala Akkineni in mind and when the makers gave it a try to approach her for the role, she was game for it. By the way, the team has been canning some sequences on Amala and Sharwanand in Hyderabad, recently.
Pics from the shooting locations have been released, and we can see the senior Akkineni daughter-in-law playing a middle-class mother. She effortlessly looks like one, naturally.
