Akhil Akkineni’s Agent is one of the much-awaited upcoming projects from Tollywood. The film has been in the news for the past two years and is now scheduled for release in April.
Recently a song from the film, Malli Malli, was released. The response to the song has been lukewarm. The song is easy on years, but it hasn’t turned out to be that big hit number which adds to the hype of the film. More was expected from a successful music director like Hip Hop Thamizha.
We have seen in the past how the presence of a blockbuster song improves the prospects of any film at the box office.
Akhil still isn’t that big star who alone could bring the audiences to the theaters. His last film Most Eligible Bachelor had some great songs, which helped the film garner a good initial.
Yes, there is anticipation among the audience to watch Agent, and a hit song could have further helped the cause. But Malli Malli isn’t that song.
Nani’s Dasara also suffers from the same problem of not having addictive songs that will boost the hype for the film.
Let’s hope the makers of Agent have some aces up their sleeves as far as music is concerned. A couple of blockbuster songs will enhance the buzz for Agent and will ensure the audience will turn up in big numbers on its first day.
