Aishwarya Rajinikanth Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is in talks to portray former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly in an upcoming biographical drama produced by Luv Ranjan Films.

The film aims to depict Ganguly’s influential journey as a player and captain, highlighting his aggressive style of play and leadership skills. The movie is yet to be titled, and there are discussions with Aishwarya Rajinikanth, daughter of Rajinikanth, to direct the project.

Aishwarya Rajinikanth made her debut with 3 in 2012, starring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan. The film was a box office flop and is best remembered for the viral song, Why This Kolaveri Di?

Aishwarya still has to prove her credentials as a successful director. Her upcoming film Lal Salaam also got trolled recently as the first look of Rajinikanth from the film was badly done.

Saurav Ganguly fans aren’t too happy that someone like Aishwarya is directing the biopic on such a famous legend. It is a very challenging task to direct a sports drama based on the life of a cricketer.

Many biopics on cricketers failed, like Azhar, 83, and Shabaash Mithu. The only film that was successful in the recent past was MS Dhoni: The Untold Story because it was directed by a talented director like Neeraj Pandey.

We have to wait and see if Aishwarya Rajinikanth does justice to the life of a legend like Saurav Ganguly, who is revered by his fans across the globe.
