There are three confirmed movies, and one in the process, that are slated to arrive in cinemas for Sankranthi 2020 in Telugu. So far, we are only focussing on them from the Telugu states perspective or the US. And we already seem to understand how a clash might not be beneficial.
But, there are other areas as well like Karnataka and the rest of India. In these places, there is already trouble in the form of Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Darbar. The movie brings together two powerful brands, Rajinikanth and AR Murugadoss. As if this movie alone was not enough, now we have an additional threat to trouble Telugu Sankranthi releases.
The Bollywood period action drama, Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior made on a lavish scale is releasing on January 10th. An official announcement has been made to this regard. The movie features Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan in crucial roles.
Whether or not Darbar and Tanhaji do well, they are bound to take away a considerable chunk of the screens in India. The clash ‘within-and outside’ is very likely to reduce the box office prospects in case the Telugu biggies fail to match up to the expectations.
