Actor and activist R Narayana Murthy has been arrested. The noted personality has been apprehended for extending his support and participation in the ongoing agitation by the farmers against the Narendra Modi government.
The agitation was launched by the angry farmers with the protest ‘Chalo Raj Bhavan’ for which R Narayana Murthy gave support. However, the protest was not accorded permission, thus R Narayana Murthy was arrested.
R Narayana Murthy has expressed that the central government must revoke the three new farm laws that don’t accord any benefit to the farming community. He said that the new laws are making farmers turn into daily laborers. Thus he appealed to revoke the new laws implemented by the Modi regime.
R Narayana Murthy is a multi-hyphenated personality who often expresses societal issues via his folk songs and screenwriting. Meanwhile, the farming community has been protesting against the Modi governance for the last seven months to repeal the new laws. Several talks between the Centre and the farmers didn’t yield any results. In fact, the matter turned worse on January 26 post the tractor rally.
