But before Pathaan happened, Bollywood delivered some decent films which were overlooked when released in theaters but are now making noise after their release on OTT platforms.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s An Action Hero is one such film. The film provides a lot of entertainment to OTT viewers. Many who watched the movie on Netflix couldn’t help but sing praises about the film. It isn’t an Andhadhun, but it is quite gripping, to say the least.
Beyond the chase between the hero and the villain, the film packs several brilliant messages. Also, the satirical take on underworld dons, the media’s TRP-centered theatrics, and narrative manipulation also add to the entertainment.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s films were sure-shot 100 crore films before the pandemic happened. But post-COVID, people’s movie-watching habits have changed, and he has suffered the brunt of this change the most.
But it must be appreciated that Ayushmann still persisted and kept doing what he did best – pick interesting projects with interesting content. Hope he starts finding success again!
