We have many biggies, Acharya, RRR, Pushpa, Bheemla Nayak, and Akhanda waiting in the wings to get to the cinemas. Each movie has also commenced its promotional activity and is currently in different stages. They all come with different expectations, but one thing seems to be shared so far. It is the response to their first single.
Acharya’s ‘Laahe Laahe’ is the first one to be out, and the latest is ‘Adiga Adiga’ from NBK’s Akhanda. In between, we have had ‘Dosti’ from RRR, ‘Daakko Daakko Meka’ from Pushpa and the Bheemla Nayak title song.
As said earlier, the response to the first singles of these biggies is similar. They all have got good appreciation. However, none have managed to go to the next level and become a blockbuster single. They have failed to cross the line and become a chartbuster.
Given these biggies’ hype, even a ‘good’ response is enough to show big numbers. But, one can’t help but feel if they were a chartbuster, it would have been a massive shot in the arm. The ‘hype’ would have multiplied. It is what gives the biggies an extra edge on the opening day.
With the uncertainty over release dates, the makers of these biggies are currently holding off their promotions. The next round will begin as soon as everyone has clarity on their arrival in cinemas. We hope at least then they get a resounding chartbuster to keep the buzz alive.
