Acharya Bravely Facing Extraordinary ChallengeThe release of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya is just two days away, and the advance bookings of the movie are opening all over one by one. It throws some unpleasant truth at fans and highlights the extraordinary challenge that Acharya bravely faces.

The first thing that we have to say is Acharya is coming with one of biggest challenges ever for a Megastar Chiranjeevi film. That it also stars Ram Charan and, under the direction of Koratala Siva, makes it a tough pill to swallow for fans. To compound the effect, Acharya comes after pan-India biggies RRR and KGF 2 and has opted for hiked prices in Telugu states.

The opening of Acharya, especially in Nizam (Telangana) territory, is under scanner from all the corners. Here, the advance booking trends come into the picture and show reality. They are weak, undoubtedly. However, one has to keep in mind it (weak) is relative to how other biggies have performed. Theatres that are usually sold out within minutes are reaching the same status in a few hours. It is the main difference between Acharya and others.

This suggests that despite coming after Pan-India biggies and having hiked prices, Acharya is still managing to pull in the audience. Only here, it is slower than usual. One can give it that leeway, given the extraordinary circumstances, ticket hike, and coming after Pan-India biggies.

The Andhra Pradesh side looks business as usual, though, as wherever the bookings have opened (Nellore, Vizag, Tirupati etc.) are superb. It is Nizam which has to get into a higher gear.

Acharya stars Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan together for the first time. The Koratala Siva directorial hits the screens all over on April 29th. Mani Sharma provides the music to the mass entertainer.
