sanjay-duttThe highly popularized case of actor Sanjay Dutt, who was convicted for the possession of weapons at the time of the 1993 Mumbai blasts, is back in news.

The renowned Bollywood actor was found guilty of possessing an AK-47 rifle which resulted in a sentence of five years imprisonment. Abu Salem is one among six people convicted in the attack and now face trial.

However, according to the gangster, Abu Salem, he did not give Dutt the weapons. Salem denied any such actions of going to Dutt’s house and giving him two AK-47 rifles and hand grenades before the blasts in a statement before the TADA court on Tuesday. He submitted his statement according to the Criminal Procedure Code, section 313, which allows the accused to explain any circumstances appearing in the evidence against him or her personally.
