As a director, Ravi Babu has created a unique niche for him over the years. One can easily separate him from others for his style of humour and making. But, sadly, he has not been able to deliver success. Forget that, there has been no worthwhile movie as well.
The last film from Ravi Babu that genuinely made an impact (within his scale) was Avuvu. It was a 2012 release. He too seems to be well aware of that. Ravi Babu had come up with a sequel Avunu 2, in 2015. After failing to excite and bring the crowd to cinemas with the piglet crime caper Adhugo, Ravi Babu is back to his Avunu zone with Aaviri.
If not for the title, one could have easily mistaken the footage to be from Avunu. Still, whatever little is shown offers hope of a cohesive, engaging plot from Aaviri. A final call on the content could be made only after looking at a trailer that provides a better look at the plot than mere visual gimmicks.
