Prabhas’ mythological magnum-opus Adipurush was all set to release on August 11. The independence day weekend this year was considered the golden week, with as many as 5-6 holidays falling in line, including the Rakshabandhan festival, Parsi new year, and Janmashtami.
But then Aamir Khan requested the makers of Adipurush to accommodate Laal Singh Chaddha, and the Prabhas film was pushed to Sankranthi 2023. Also, there was a lot of VFX work pending, so the makers of Adipurush felt it better to postpone.
Akshay Kumar’s Rakshabandhan also decided to come on August 11 and this week saw the release of two much-awaited Bollywood films.
But both the films have done disastrous business on day one, and according to the latest box office reports, both the films have fallen by more than 30% on their second day.
Such a long golden weekend full of holidays got wasted because of two atrocious films that have neither satisfied the audience nor the critics.
If Adipurush had arrived on this date, it would have wreaked havoc like Baahubali with positive word of mouth.
