A film in the combination of Superstar Mahesh Babu and director Trivikram Srinivas has been threatening to happen for a long time. Their last outing together was Khaleja, which came way back in 2010.
Cut the scene to 2020, no official confirmation regarding Mahesh Babu with Trivikram Srinivas has come, but there was growing rumour of their combination. The buzz hit the ceiling on the tenth-anniversary celebration of Khaleja. Superstar Mahesh Babu expressed happiness with the movie and said that they are coming together very soon.
Many say that an official announcement would be made soon and it could be the next project of Mahesh Babu and the director. Remember, the former is supposed to do Sarkaru Vaari Paata whereas the latter has a movie with Jr NTR next.
Now, we have news coming in that the shooting of Mahesh Babu’s current project with Parasuram, Sarkaru Vaari Paata is getting postponed to next year. The reason cited is visa issues. Meanwhile, it will be a while before Jr NTR gets free from RRR.
Put two and two together, and it is likely that Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas may come together, as speculated. It is all about the question of integrity now. A film in their combination, postponing their currently accepted projects could leave a bad taste among all the people involved.
Both Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas have valid reasons in the form of visa issues and RRR completion, respectively. They can’t be expected to sit idly for months together. They had their last releases for Sankranthi and their next could take a year if started immediately. It could be more than two years for Trivikram Srinivas if he were to wait for Jr NTR. The plan was to bring it for summer 2021; now it could be summer 2022.
It is a long gap, for big names like them at their prime. But, the timing of it all is not right and will lead to endless whispers in hushed tones. Let’s see what decision is made eventually.
