The film which is director Shoojit Sircar stars Deepika Padukone in title role with Amitabh Bachchan and Irfan Khan essaying other principle characters. It is the never before seen kind of theme and screenplay of the film dealing with the constipation of an old man that has won over the audience. The critics and audience are hailing it as the Queen of this year.
From a trade perspective many believe that Piku could eventually turn out to be the first clean hit of the year if the same momentum of the weekend is carried for the rest of the week too. A clear picture would emerge on Tuesday when a clear trend would emerge though.
