Most Eligible Bachelor- Pongal 2021Akkineni Akhil came with a massive hype when he arrived on the scene with Akhil. The disastrous fate of the film had a visible impact on his career. So much so that it had to be re-launched.

However, even after a reboot and despite having a fairly decent product, Akhil’s second, Hello, couldn’t capture the attention of the audience. The same happened with his third outing Mr Majnu, as well.

The three back to back disappointments brought down the excitement among the Akkineni fans. The lack of clarity with the fourth (before official confirmation) further aggravated the situation.

It was at this time, Most Eligible Bachelor happened. Although the director Bhaskar was not what the fans imagined, they were happy with the banner, and people behind it.

Originally slated as a summer release amidst tight competition, Most Eligible Bachelor subsequently got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Over the past few months, there was a buzz that it would arrive for Dussera. But now it is locked for Sankranthi 2021.

While the competition is given at any point of release, Most Eligible Bachelor arriving for Sankranthi is a blessing in disguise for Akhil. Under normal circumstances, Sankranthi festival accommodates multiple films.

We saw that in 2016 when Akhil’s father Nagarjuna arrived in four-way competition and emerged winner with Soggade Chinni Nayana. A star film with good talk is always lapped up by the audience no matter how many other movies are present. In fact, if others are good, they also get a decent run as we saw earlier in the year.

An Akhil movie with good talk and backed by the people it has sounds like a perfect recipe for success. All that needs to be seen if the film gets the correct talk.

Most Eligible Bachelor stars Akhil and Pooja Hegde in the lead. Bhaskar of Bommarillu and Parugu fame directs the movie. Bunny Vaas produces the film on GA2 banner whereas Allu Aravind presents it. Gopi Sundar is the music director.
