With big power comes bigger responsibility is a popular dialogue in a film. The same can be now said of director SS Rajamouli for his concluding chapter of Baahubali.
The first part of Baahubali did a business over 100 Cr and it was, at that time, considered massive. Now the second part business has started and going by the early figures doing the rounds, the business has not just doubled but tripled. Part 1 had entire Telugu business wrapped around 100 Cr. For part 2, only the two Telugu states are going to bring more than 100 Cr.
Then there is Bollywood version which is getting over 100 Cr. Add Tamil, Kerala and Karnataka rights, overall business zooms past 300 Cr. Did we mention overseas? That’s another territory where 50 Cr business in minimum possible number. Overall early estimates of the pre-release business of Baahubali 2 are 350 Cr. It goes without saying that this is the highest pre-release business ever for a film in India. Baahubali 2 is slated to release worldwide on April 28, 2017.
