The only factor that created the buzz on ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ was Kamal Haasan. If not for him, there wouldn’t have been any pre-release curiosity about the movie. Now, amidst the mixed reviews, the movie’s collections have dropped down big time and the producers are going to suffer big time.
According to a report in the Deccan Chronicle, the producers, Reliance bought the movie on Kamal Haasan’s personal request and they are going to suffer around Rs 25 crore plus losses. The movie couldn’t even satisfy Kamal Haasan’s die-hard fans. Though no one will find fault in Kamal Haasan as an actor, it’s his writing and the direction that had failed the movie.
It was made in 2013. The makers could have revisited the movie and worked on the missing portions and incoherent scenes to make the movie pass through the box-office test if not a blockbuster.
