Shakeela was quite a phenomenon when she was the Superstar of adult films in Malayalam and quite rightfully received high remuneration as her films were sold like hot cakes giving tough competition to the biggies in the Malayalam Film industry.
Now that her biopic is in the making in Bollywood, the actress is opening up on the certain things that were unknown to the audiences. In the recent past, she was offered a role in Shahrukh Khan’s blockbuster film ‘Chennai Express’. Sathyaraj (Kattappa) who played Deepika’s father in the film told Shakeela that she would be paid Rs 20,000 on daily basis.
She felt bad that they are making a big budget film and offered her peanuts. So, Shakeela declined the offer. When she took a gap of 2-3 years, filmmakers and producers were apprehensive to cast in the mainstream movies fearing that their movies might be branded as ‘B-Grade’ films revealed Shakeela.
