2.0-Movie-US-BO-Target-Kabali-Or-Baahubali-Or-Baahubali-2After waiting for years, the d-day is here. In a few hours from now, the costliest movie ever made in India, 2.0 will hit the screens worldwide. We have updated (Check) the Telugu states box office previously, here we look at the US.

Like in every other territory there is a huge task ahead of team 2.0 regarding box office figures. For the opening day, it isn’t Baahubali movies, but another Rajinikanth film that provides the challenge. Kabali had mind-blowing premiere figures of close to 2 million. And from that point, it is all about Baahubali 2. The highest opening day, should that be the aim, belongs to Baahubali 2.

Given the scope and scale of release, here are what we think the right targets of 2.0. The premiere number ideally should have easily surpassed Kabali ($1.9 Million), but that can’t be said confidently right now.

As far as the final run is considered, Baahubali ($6.8 Million) should be the initial milestone to reach rather than Baahubali 2 ($20 Million). The latter should be on the radar if 2.0 gets a blockbuster talk like Enthiran (Robo). Still, it might be a far reach.

The hype on the movie hasn’t peaked like a Kabali, or Baahubali 2 did. It is the reason why we are still talking in “ifs-n-buts”, which shouldn’t have been the case for a mammoth project like 2.0.

The excitement of a biggie is still palpable among the trade all over. Everyone is waiting to see what Shankar has in store this time. How much of that interest would be reflected in the general public will decide the opening fate of the movie. The rest of the run will be on the content. Keep watching this space as we update everything related to 2.0 as and when it happens.
