2.0 starring Superstar Rajinikanth has emerged as the new Industry Hit among Tamil films including the dubbed versions. The previous best was also a Rajinikanth movie Kabali.
The point to be noted here is the number is including all version and not single Tamil original. In the case of single language and only original Tamil movies, Mersal tops the list followed by Sarkar. If dubbed movies are taken into consideration keeping only Tamil in mind, then Baahubali 2 comes at the top. It is still the highest collecting movie in Tamil Nadu.
The trade sources say that by the end of the weekend, 2.0 will be over 300 Cr gross worldwide making it the first ever Tamil film to reach the mark. In the US, the Shankar directorial has gone past 3 million and is looking at set to go past 4 million in the long run unless there is an unexpected drop. Apart from the two Baahubali films, Rajinikanth will be the only star with two 4 million movies in the US.
